AUG 13, 2020 AT 12:11 PM When the year turned to 2020, I wrote in my journal of the low-level dread I feel every election year. I hate election years.
This year we have had added on top of political partisanship and ugliness, the pandemic, family sickness, and isolation.
In this world of chaos and craziness I feel, more than ever, the call to focus, be still and listen. Rather than melding with the whirlwind of argument, sickness, slander, and isolation around me, I believe I can find a place of calm in the storm; sit peacefully and eat a prepared meal in “the valley of the shadow of death”.
I can be in the storm and not be of the storm.
I can be light and creativity in spite of the chaos, even because of the chaos.
You can, too.
